The HVL-486 is a high performance AT/ISA compatible PC card, which can support the Intel 32-bit 486DX4/DX2/DX/SX CPUs. CPU internal clock frequencies supported are: 16, 25, 33, 50, 66, 75,100 & 120MHz. The HVL-486 design specifications address above-average requirements for high reliability and expansion backplane loading. Some of these specifications are: absence of "floating" inputs, full termination of all clock signals and fully buffered address, control and status signals in the AT/ISA expansion interface. All configuration jumpers are eliminated with the set-up information being held in CMOS memory. Gold plated connectors are used including for the SIMM sockets which also have metal latches. Connectors are shrouded and polarised where possible to prevent incorrect cable insertion. The high level of integration, low power dissipation and low chip count enhances the reliability of the total computer system. The HVL-486 conforms to the industry-standard AT/ISA class add-on card footprint.
